Anxiety can take a toll on our lives in many different ways. It manifests itself differently for everyone but often causes problems by preventing you from taking action. It makes you afraid to make the wrong decision. It causes you to worry about what you said or what others may think about you.
Anxiety can paralyze you with indecision and fear that things will not work out.
It breeds the obsessive thoughts and ruminations of “What if,”’ and before you know it you are feeling overwhelmed and frustrated.

I will work with you using a two-fold approach of both in-the-moment techniques as well as strengthening your overall skills, to more effectively manage the symptoms of anxiety.
In-the-moment techniques can include things like deep breathing, distraction, relaxation, and other mindfulness interventions. We will use cognitive based approaches to help you shift perspectives and find new ways to look at yourself, others, and the world, increasing your awareness of your own agency and abilities.
This shift will allow you to recognize that you have more control over yourself and your life. You will learn to take things one step at a time and focus on the present, as anxiety often tricks us into living in the past or future.
As you do this, you will gain the skills, confidence, and experiences that will empower you to more easily handle life’s challenges.
