Depression and working through depressive episodes are exhausting and difficult to endure. You feel unmotivated, have less energy, and are unable to function like you are used to doing. All you want to do is take a break... but life and your responsibilities still exist. The pressures, deadlines, and tasks persist, weighing you down even more.

Therapy will help you learn more effective ways to manage, helping  you move through your depression and symptoms.

One of the first strategies is to shift the goal from “getting/feeling better” to “getting through it.”  While at first this may sound strange, if it were as simple as just feeling better, you would have already done so long ago.

We will work to identify and prioritize necessary tasks during depressive episodes, so you are using the energy that you have more efficiently.  I use cognitive and strength-based approaches to help you shift perspective, as well as reduce self criticism and guilt.  We will also work on self care as a foundation for ongoing well being.

You can stop being held back from your life.
